The Los Fresnos Rodeo Committee would like to welcome each of you to the 18^th Annual Los Fresnos PRCA Rodeo!

Many improvements have been made throughout the year. For one, we have a new announcer’s stand this year. It is almost sad to see the old one go which had been with us since our first Rodeo in 1990. You’ll notice the light poles have been moved behind the bleachers, no longer interfering with the view from the stands. Not only have the poles been moved but you’ll notice the lighting has been upgraded with 1500 watt sport lights. The Rodeo Committee has also been busy making improvements on roads, bleachers, animal pens, electrical, and even found the time to put a new coat of paint on all the buildings! In addition to these improvements, the Rodeo Committee continues to assist our community youth by awarding college scholarships and providing donations to non-profit organizations whose assistance has been invaluable in helping us put on the Rodeo.

The hard work and dedication of the Los Fresnos Rodeo Directors never ceases to amaze me. These volunteers certainly deserve a round of “Thanks!” If you see a Director, please shake their hand or give them a pat on the back for the countless hours of work they put in to bring this event to Los Fresnos. Also, a BIG thanks goes to the other volunteers that give their time at Rodeo time as well as throughout the year. A HUGE thanks goes to all our many sponsors and supporters this year as well as throughout the last 18 years. Many have been with us from the beginning. Please take note of these companies and individuals and remember to give them your support as you conduct your business throughout the year. We could not do what we do without their commitment to the Los Fresnos Rodeo.

This year will be another fun-filled weekend with lots of action and plenty to keep you and your family occupied from Friday through Sunday. We will again have top Cowboys & Cowgirls from throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico! You will see award-winning livestock from the Stace Smith Pro Rodeo Company. Stace Smith has been named Stock Contractor of the Year for the 3^rd consecutive year for PRCA. His entire staff and stock are the best! Allen Nelson, a long time friend of Los Fresnos Rodeo is back to fight bulls. He is joined by Casey Wells. These professional “bull-fighting” clowns risk life and limb during the bull riding to protect our Cowboys. Rodeo Clown Cody Sosebee will join us this year to provide entertainment. His Rodeo humor will keep you & your family laughing!

The theme for the Rodeo this year is “America, Why I Love Her”. You’ll not want to miss this year’s special patriotic Grand Entry. Immediately following the Rodeo on Friday night we will have a grand firework display provided by Alamo Fireworks. On Saturday night following the Rodeo we will have a free concert by The Michael O’Neal Band, compliments of Red River Service Corporation.

Don’t forget to visit the Los Fresnos Area Chamber of Commerce Art & Crafts Show and the Cameron County Fair & Livestock Show. Thank you for giving us the pleasure of your company for this great weekend of fun and entertainment!
